Sorry, the product is mostly under wraps for now because it’s still taking shape. Here’s what we can tell you so far…

  • It's going to be a device based around the Raspberry Pi hardware. The Raspberry Pi is reliable and provides all the capabilities the software needs. Using existing consumer hardware means that more resources can be dedicated to building useful and unique software.
  • It's going to give you, the user, final control. This is a fundamental principle in the development our software. Companies and individuals will be able to examine all the information stored on the device and review which network services it has interacted with.
  • It won't automatically return information to us. When you operate the device, it will be your choice whether you want to use any further Dashi services: though Dashi might provide digital services for the device, it won't be dependent on the continued provision of those services from us.
  • Anyone will be able to run their own device using the community edition.
  • Developers will be free to develop additional software for the device. Users will not be restricted to install software from a single proprietary store. This will in turn give developers freedom to monetize their software separately from us.
