Gascon

Gascon is a fixed-width Unicode bitmap typeface. The glyph for each codepoint is stored as an 8x16 bitplane. Inevitably, this constraint requires that significant compromises are necessary for some glyphs. Nevertheless, the typeface seeks to a provide cohesive design across all supported scripts, in addition to consistency within and between Unicode blocks.

Gascon is in the spirit of GNU’s Unifont. It has much smaller coverage at this time, but the intention is to make the typeface available under a less restrictive licence than the GPL.

Gascon currently consists of almost 4,000 glyphs.
